Hex-end (17 mm) fits older models while star-shaped end fits later models. The star end is called out as tool #2567 and #3357 in repair manuals. CAUTION: Some late model automatic transmissions do not have dipsticks and if you drain the fluid out, you will need a diagnostics computer when refilling to tell you when the tranny is “full”.
