SubH Part MN3036 – Universal Sprocket Buster (TM) Counterhold Tool
Used to hold the cam sprocket during cam bolt torquing (Early IDI and TDI) and is used when adjusting the cam sprocket hub bolts on later TDI® engines.
Universal sprocket counterhold tool. Holds the sprocket when loosening or tightening the cam sprocket center bolt. Essential for diesel timing belt changes. Useful for holding any sprocket that has spokes with holes larger than about 17 mm, including gasoline cam and intermediate shaft sprockets.Tip: While you will need this for a timing belt change, there is also an added bonus. Install a new water pump on your AHU/1Z TDI® during every 2nd timing belt replacement. This tool will allow you to remove the intermediate shaft pulley exposing water pump bolts. This applies to pre-TDI® (IDI) engines too. Also essential for adjusting the cam sprocket hub bolts on BRM, CVCA and CRUA engines. Not recommended for CBEA, CJAA and CKRA engines. You need the mini-pin feature of the MNRAIL available under those engine categories.
