Policies and Terms
Tool Warranty:
Your Metalnerd® Brand Tool has a lifetime 1-time replacement warranty, limited to the original owner of the tool. Keep your receipt that comes with your shipment. The 1st replacement is free of charge. Certain non-Metalnerd® Brand Items may be subject to the manufacturer's warranty. Unless specifically designated as an impact-grade tool, we do not warrant against impact tool damage. Certain precision tools, such as our electrical connector tool, are not warranted against breakage. Most exceptions are spelled out in the item description. Obvious forms of abuse or misuse will not qualify for our replacement policy. Example - bent parts that should never encounter significant force, like crank locks, cam plates and alignment pins. Tool purchase for rental purposes voids all warranties.
CLEARANCE items have a 30 day warranty against defects.

Shipping Costs
Although we provide a total during checkout, this total does not include shipping.
The actual shipping charges will be added to the order total before your credit card is processed. In all cases, if you provide an e-mail address, we will e-mail you your order total and confirm the ship date.
Shipment Completeness
The customer needs to confirm the contents of the shipment within 7 days of receipt. After that date, all claims for missing items will not be honored.
Shipping Methods
Postal Priority: We ship most all US domestic retail orders via US Postal Priority Mail with Postal Tracking and typically takes 2-3 postal days to reach you. It costs more than some ground carriers but the care and handling is excellent and worth the couple extra dollars and can be a real bargain with flat rate boxes. We don't add any "handling" fees to your order. The US Postal Priority Mail also provides online tracking. You should get a tracking e-mail from the carrier for US Postal and most other shipments.
Fed-Ex Ground: Heavier shipments sent longer distances (like to the west coast) are more economical if sent by Fed-Ex Ground but it can take 4 business days. If you don't want Fed-Ex Ground to be an option, let us know in the comments section. If you want a firm quote, drop us an e-mail.
Overnight/Express: If you need overnight delivery, it is best if you order by phone and call before 2:45 PM, Eastern Standard Time.
Postal 1st Class: Certain small items can, at your option, be shipped in 1st class envelopes to save money. The maximum weight that can be sent via 1st class is 13 ounces and the method can be used to ship anywhere in the continental USA. This will take 5 to 10 days. If you want this option for small items, type "Lowest cost shipping" in our "Special Instructions or Comments" box on the cart payment page. Be sure to use an address that the Post Office will recognize.
Bottom Line: You pay what we pay.
International Customers:
Drop us an e-mail - US Postal is an excellent choice here too. Just e-mail or fax your desired items for a firm quote.
Charles Meglio, LLC and Metalnerd.com make every effort to comply with Customs regulations. We will not falsify or de-value the shipment (i.e. mark as "gift") on any Customs forms.
Shipping Delivery Terms:
As a mail-order business, Charles Meglio, LLC and Metalnerd.com rely on parcel carriers to carry out the most important part of the transaction: delivering the product to the customer. Packages are rarely lost. Occasionally they can be delayed or sometimes damaged. Our parcel carriers provide electronic confirmation when they deliver the product to you. The parcel carrier's electronic confirmation is proof of delivery and we are not responsible for packages lost or stolen after electronic confirmation of delivery. Insurance against loss or damage during shipping is not included and can be added at your cost under your special request.
Our default shipping configurations for the continental USA are as follows:
1) Ground parcel (Postal Priority Mail or Fed-Ex Ground)
2) Uninsured
3) No signature required upon receipt
Optional overnight/express shipping may be available for your area. When the customer requests domestic express shipping in the continental USA, our defaults are as follows:
1) Air parcel (Postal Express Mail or Fed-Ex Overnight)
2) Uninsured
3) No signature required upon receipt
Again, the parcel carrier's electronic confirmation is proof of delivery.
Return Policy
When: We accept returns of unused items that arrive back at our facility within 30 days of arrival at your location. Arrival date at your facility is established by electronic confirmation.
Restocking Fees: Due to credit card/PayPal fees on both the initial sale and again on the refund, we must charge a 10% restocking fee. This also applies to orders that have been charged to credit card or paid by PayPal and await shipment. This is because we incur the same fees when we process your credit card or get paid by PayPal.
Return Procedure: To return unused tools, call our customer service line to indicate reason for return. The customer is responsible for adequately cushioning the tools and adding enough stuffing material to the box to prevent all movement and contact during shipping. Any damage that occurs during return shipment due to inadequate packaging is the responsibility of the customer and may reduce the market value of the tools and therefore may reduce the refunded value. Re-using the original box may not provide enough protection. Include your name and phone number in/on the package.
Definition of "Used": Tools which, upon our inspection, appear to have been used by the customer, may not be eligible for refund. Missing or soiled stickers, wear and/or abrasion of mating surfaces, etc. will be signs of tools being "used" and may not be eligible for refund.
Return Shipping Cost: The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
Shipping Errors: If we make an error and ship the wrong items to you, we will offer to deliver the correct item to you within 5 business days. This is the extent of our liability to the customer. The seller will advise the customer on return shipping method and provide postage or will refund reasonable and customary shipping costs.
How to Order:
Visa/Mastercard/Discover
We gladly accept credit cards (Visa/Mastercard/Discover). DO NOT e-mail the credit card info. Use our Shopping Cart system for secure transactions. If you prefer the personal touch, e-mail to us your daytime and/or evening telephone numbers and we will call you for the credit card details. You can also call our order line (412-601-4270) or download the offline order form and fax (724-850-9116) your order with your credit card details. If you do decide to fax your order and your billing and shipping addresses are different, please let us know.
PayPal
We accept payments through PayPal. However, since we must add the shipping charges to the total before we process your order, our cart system can't directly process a PayPal payment. To order with PayPal, place your order as if you were using a credit card. Rather than entering your actual credit card number, enter this as your credit card number:1111222233334444 with an expiration date of 12/20 and use 123 in the CVV2 code. It also helps if you type "Will pay using PayPal" in the comments block at the bottom of the page. This way, we can easily see your intererst in PayPal when we receive the order via e-mail. We will then send a PayPal money request to your e-mail address.
For convenience, you can also just call or e-mail us with a list of items you need.
Check or Money Order

Sales Tax
Pennsylvania PA residents add 6% (or 7% or 8% depending on location) local sales tax to the total including shipping.
